Japanese has been by far the most fun language I have ever studied. A mix of phonetic and ideographic alphabets, Japanese is one of the most complex of the world's modern languages. I always found that with Japanese, there is never a dull moment. You can spend a day studying Kanji, another on vocabulary (19% of which consists of loan words from European Languages!), or the streamlined grammar system that makes me lament at how illogical English can be.
LANGUAGE GOALS
Since most of my favourite authors are from Japan, I would love to be fluent enough in Japanese to read contemporary novels. Within the next year or so I would like to achieve a JLPT N4 level of proficiency.
TEST SCORES AND ACCREDITATION
At this point in time, I have no official accreditation in the Japanese language.
